Space Chase was one of the first tabletop games I worked on. It combines strategic tile placement and hand management to create endless tricky puzzles. Creating the instruction booklet for Space Chase was also a tricky puzzle due to the game’s unorthodox rule set and diverse tile collection.
The booklet itself is 8”x5” and 24 pages long. To help convey larger ideas and limit the amount of text needed, many pages use diagrams. These diagrams needed to be simple to read, yet display a large amount of information. Because of their importance in teaching the game they went through many iterations while searching the correct visual language.
The color theme mirrors the logo’s blue, white and galaxy black to create a consistent set of headers, image frames and informational pop-outs.
This packaging design is from a game I created called Wicked Apples. It’s a take on family friendly macabre. The art is a call out to Grimm’s Fairy Tales with a slight wild west slant in coloring and font choice.
I painted the original apple artwork using watercolor then altered the artwork in Photoshop to create a more illustrated look. I primarily used a 2 tone black and textured yellow design for the rest of the cards to give them a simple and older feel.
The tuck box itself holds up to 36 cards and can be stored in numerous positions while still prominently displaying the game’s name.
Using the brand style guide I created for Wicked Apples I’ve created other marketing materials such as pins, dice, business cards and promotional flyers.
Using with Backbone, Handlebars and SCSS I work with a team to maintain and update the Enrollment Management portion of a school web application.
This portion of the application is used by admissions offices to management applications, inquiries and school contracts.
